You can fly to Orlando International Airport direct from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Belfast, Glasgow and Manchester.
It’s also possible to fly from other UK airports, but there will be one or two changes.
Yes, you can use your UK licence to drive in Florida. When you pick up your rental car you’ll need to show the photocard. If you have the old style paper licence, you’ll also need to show your passport.
If you received your driving licence outside of the UK, and it’s in a different language, you’ll need an International Driving Permit.
If you plan to drive outside of Florida, you may need an International Driving Permit. Check the driving laws online before you go. Luckily, these permits are cheap and can be obtained from the Post Office or by applying online.
The best time to go to Florida depends on what you want to do. July and August are the most popular months because of the school holidays. It can be very hot and humid at these times, but there’s a fun, lively atmosphere, and lots of events in places such as the theme parks.
If you aren’t bound by the school holidays, then going in May/June or September/October can be a good choice. You still get pleasant, warm weather, and rain is rarely an issue.
The cheapest flights to Orlando are usually found in November and December – outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas – and from January to March. If you are simply looking for the cheapest Florida holiday, and don’t mind slightly cooler weather, then these are good months to visit.
If you’re on a budget, but still want to visit during the peak months, then give Florida Masters a call on 020 7084 7471. We’ll be able to find a package that best suits your budget.
The UK is part of the USA’s visa waiver program, meaning you can visit Florida for up to 90 days. It’s important to note that to enter the USA, you’ll need to have a newer style passport with an electronic chip. If your passport is more than a couple of years old, you should double check that it has the e-passport symbol.

You’ll also have to apply for ESTA, which will allow you to enter the USA, and also visit countries such as Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Be sure to apply online through the official site, at least 72 hours before you leave. The majority of applications from UK citizens are authorised immediately, but some people will need to wait 72 hours for a decision.

The NHS doesn’t recommend any specific vaccinations for those visiting Florida on holiday. However, you should ensure you and your children are up to date with your usual vaccination schedule. Many adults forget to get their tetanus booster updated every 10 years, so it’s worth getting this done if you’ll be enjoying lots of outdoor activities.
If you’re planning a Florida holiday in 2017 or 2018, then booking far in advance can be a great way to save money. Plus, many people like to have the extra time to plan their dream holiday. However, there are often different deals going on throughout the year. If you want to find out prices for a date in the future, then call today on 020 7084 7471 and we’ll be happy to help.
